Sung-Woo Cho, Ph.D. Joins ASA as New Partner
ASA Research is pleased to announce that Sung-Woo Cho, Ph.D. has joined our firm as a partner. He brings more than 15 years of experience in postsecondary education research and university administration to ASA, along with capabilities to expand ASA’s work in artificial intelligence (AI).
Sung-Woo has led large-scale evaluations in higher education and workforce training. He excels at conducting rigorous quantitative evaluations to determine programmatic impacts. This expertise aligns closely with ASA’s strong track record in quantitative and qualitative research for higher education clients.
Sung-Woo’s experience using AI to enhance student access and success will help ASA expand its focus to include predictive analytics, machine learning, and text analytics.
Previously, Sung-Woo worked as a quantitative researcher at the Community College Research Center (CCRC) at Columbia University and a senior researcher at Abt Global (formerly Abt Associates). He also served as associate vice provost for academic data analytics at the University of Oregon.
Sung-Woo holds a Ph.D. in economics and education from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in economics and public policy from Stanford University.
